I was wondering if someone could offer me advice on playing MahJong Toy Chest. I know how to stop the clock but someone once mentioned a way to choose your game without having to spend 10 oodles over and over again trying to find one of the easier games. Does anyone who's on here know how to do this? I've tried everything I can think of, but I've had no luck so far.

Sassy- I've not learned how to stop the clock, is that something you'd share? I've also not figured out what happens to the oddle entry fee and placement on the leaderboard if I do play multiple times. Is there is 10 oodle reduction only if you improve your score? I wish Player News - FAQ would explain all of this.

I'm glad to share how to stop the clock with you . When you see 2 penguins off to the side on the upper part of the board (usually they'll pop up one at a time but sometimes they pop up together) just move your mouse over them and you will stop the clock. But be careful! Once you match 2 guitars after you stop the clock, the clock will start again. If at all possible you want to match at least one of the guitar pairs prior to stopping the clock. And then be sure to clear out all the pairs you can before matching the guitars once the clock is stopped. As far as the oodle reduction is concerned, every time you play the game you get charged 10 oodles no matter what happens. I also play Zen Gems and the same thing happens there. Also even if you don't play, for example if the game gets hung up in the middle of loading so you refresh it having never played at all, you also get charged the 10 oodles. This drives me crazy especially on Zen Gems because my computer frequently gets hung up in the middle of loading. Back when there was a regular GSN message board, someone told me you can hit the back arrow if you don't like the game that comes up and you won't be charged. I have tried this and it doesn't work for me, I still get charged. I'm hoping someone can enlighten me on how this works. I hope this helps you and good luck!!!!

Hi sassymmmm, I replied soon after your first post then tried to add something, ended up deleting it and am just now getting back, Sorry for the delay. Click on "win oodles" at bottom of page its first under "Oodles". When it goes to that page click your back page arrow. This will allow you to pick the game you want and avoid the fee on MahJong Toy Chest and on Zen Gems. This also works to avoid ads on other games aswell. For some reason it does not work to avoid ads on all games and every once in awhile it does not work on Toy Chest and Zen Gems, but most of the time it does. Thanks for the stop clock tip, I have noticed the clock stop but never knew how or why it happened. Also you said sometimes on Zen Gems the game hangs, well I have had this on many games and it has gotten really bad lately. I thought it was my computer then I started paying attention to everything going on and noticed the problems happened when ads changed. I tried opting out of ads that was a pain and did not help. So I installed "Simple Adblock" the 30 day free trial version and no more ads and no more game drag or hang ups. I think it is $29 something for full version. I wanted to try it first, although I read alot of bad reviews mostly from people unhappy that got the free trial not knowing it was a 30 day trial. If you get it directly from the adblock site it is upfront, other sites like freeware say get adblock "free" not that it is only a trial version. Anyway try it and see if it helps and do not get fooled by the "free" ads for adblock. Also it gets rid of banner ads at the top and side of page but between games you still get the time when they would be playing an ad, there is just no add but you can still use the "win oodles"- "back arrow" and skip it. Thanks again for the stop clock tip. Happy Oodleing

hi fellow toy chest and zen gem players. I thought i'd mention this: has anyone noticed the leaderboards have a sweet spot? even if i don't get a spot between 1 and 100, if i can get a spot at position 349 and 467 the oodles winnings go up again to 80 oodles same as position 31 this continues on down to 15 oodles at 467 before it is 10 oodles for all of the other positions. i try to play until i get in that zone to win the most oodles. I would like to play for free and chose the easy layouts but I use my oodles winnings from the wonder wheel to play them each day so thats enough to play many times without using what i have already. sometimes I am lucky and even end up in a crazy eight spot. good luck everyone. ~micki

Hi mixter99, I use my wonder wheel winnings each day also and then some. There are some set ups that are really no fun. I have always skipped the set ups that I don't like to play. Before I found the "win oodles" "back arrow" trick I would hit the refresh page when I got a set up I did'nt like to play and you get charged for that game even though you did'nt play it. I think that is what sassymmmm is talking about, avoiding paying for the ones you don't play. When I play a game I hit play again and pay for it. If I get a set up I don't like I skip it. There are some set ups I really like to play that never get high scores, so for me, it is about set ups I like to play and not paying for the ones I don't play. I hope that people who do this would be honest and pay for the games they play. I don't think people should have to pay for the games they don't play and I think alot of people skip some of the set ups because they are really no fun. Anyway I still end up in the same general area of the leaderboard as I always have. I will say that the "stop the clock" trick in Toy chest has improved my scores a little, Thank-You sassymmmm. The stop clock is part of the game. Also I have noticed that the higher you score the less likely you are to land on the "crazy eight". On another note, I want to say Thank-You to all Vets today and everyday. Happy Veterans Day!!

Thanks kittyx11. i will try that. i really don't like playing the stairstep one, the one that you see when you select the game on the all games page. but i am getting better at it but have never done that well. i will try your trick today. thanks

Also thanks to sassymmmm for the tip on a good time to stop the clock. i must admit i often do it by accident Also, sence i will occasionally, due to no skill of my own, land on an 8 spot and win an amazing amount of oodles considering how badly i had done. so, I play about 3 games in Zen Gems and Toy Chest. more than that and it stops being fun for me. I like spending my gsn play time trying to place on the leaderboards in other games, earning oodles that way. i like trying to improve my skills and will play any layout just to see how well i will do 'this time'. my favorite toy chest layout is world snake. I usually win that one. I like zen gems and have really improved at it. anyone else like zen gems?

I'm glad my tip about stopping the clock helped you guys. I thought more people knew about it or I would have put it in my original post I really enjoy playing Zen Gems and Toy Chest more now that I know how to skip layouts I don't like. I always play just one game of each once I get a layout I like and I always "pay" for those games. I didn't know about the sweet spots Mixter mentioned. It's nice to know. I think it would be nice to use this forum to talk about any other tips we have for other games. So here's another one: In Wheel of Fortune, once you are down to 1 spin, you never hit Bankrupt or Lose a Turn. The best way to take advantage of this is once you know the answer hit enter, escape, enter, escape etc. until you are down to 1 spin and then spin until you are out of consonants then solve. You can get pretty good scores this way.

Try my tip and you'll have no trouble getting on the WOF board especially with 1000 spots available. You just have to skip the small puzzles and work on the large puzzles using my tip.
